The DIGITISE project joined fellow Horizon Europe initiatives at the European Sustainable Energy Week (EUSEW) 2026 in Brussels as part of the E-NERGY Cluster, engaging with policymakers, researchers, industry representatives, and citizens at the Energy Fair.

Located at Stand 17, the E-NERGY Cluster brought together five European projects: DIGITISE, DECODIT, ENERGENIUS, EU-DREAM, and CELINE, united by a common ambition: empowering citizens and communities to play a more active role in Europe’s energy transition through digital innovation.

Energy innovation closer to citizens

Throughout the event, visitors had the opportunity to learn how Horizon Europe projects are helping transform the energy landscape by developing tools and services that make energy systems more accessible, transparent, and participatory.

Representing DIGITISE, project partners welcomed visitors to discuss the project’s latest developments and demonstrate how technologies such as Artificial Intelligence, Digital Twins, Data Spaces, and consumer engagement tools can support citizens and prosumers in becoming active participants in future energy markets.

The event created valuable opportunities to exchange ideas with stakeholders from across Europe, gather feedback, and explore how innovative digital solutions can contribute to a more sustainable, resilient, and inclusive energy ecosystem.

Interactive activities and meaningful conversations

In addition to presenting project achievements, the E-NERGY Cluster prepared a series of engaging activities designed to encourage dialogue and interaction with visitors.

DIGITISE invited participants to test their knowledge through an interactive quiz, available both at the stand and online. Visitors also took part in a variety of fun challenges and discussions, creating an informal setting to learn more about ongoing project activities and the future of citizen-centred energy solutions.

The strong interest shown by attendees confirmed the growing importance of digital tools, consumer empowerment, and community engagement in accelerating Europe’s energy transition.

Strengthening collaboration through the E-NERGY Cluster

The E-NERGY Cluster continues to demonstrate the value of collaboration among European projects addressing common challenges in the energy sector.

By working together, the five projects are creating synergies across areas such as energy flexibility, digitalisation, interoperability, citizen engagement, energy communities, and data-driven decision-making. Their collective presence at EUSEW provided an excellent platform to showcase complementary approaches and highlight the role of research and innovation in supporting European energy goals.

Looking ahead

Participation in EUSEW 2026 marked another important step in DIGITISE’s mission to bridge technological innovation and citizen participation. The discussions, feedback, and connections established during the event will help inform future project activities and strengthen collaboration with stakeholders across Europe.

As DIGITISE progresses towards the next phase of development and pilot implementation, the project remains committed to delivering innovative, scalable, and user-centred solutions that enable citizens and prosumers to actively contribute to the energy transition.

The DIGITISE team would like to thank everyone who visited Stand 17, participated in the activities, and shared their perspectives on the future of energy. We look forward to continuing the conversation and welcoming new members to the growing DIGITISE community.
