Towards the Green and Digital Transformation of the EU Energy Sector

Our Objectives

Technological Objectives

Empower and engage consumers in energy activities by delivering a bundle of data-driven, cross-sector, integrated digital solutions and end-user applications

DIGITISE delivers a suite of data-driven, cross-sector digital solutions and end-user applications. These solutions enable consumers to actively participate in energy activities, promoting energy efficiency, self-consumption, and participation in demand response strategies.

Promote the establishment and growth of digital twin models of household energy consumers through the utilisation of energy (and other sector) data and intelligence

The project promotes the use of digital twin models for household energy consumers. By utilising real-time data and AI analytics, these models enhance observability, improve energy literacy, and optimise the management of energy assets.

Effortlessly engage consumers in energy activities with streamlined, non-intrusive and automated solutions

DIGITISE aims to simplify consumer engagement in energy activities through non-intrusive, automated mechanisms. This includes seamless data collection, personalised energy insights, and human-centric strategies for energy efficiency and flexibility.

Ensure consumer and prosumer access to data-driven energy services through a secure, innovative framework that preserves sovereignty and respects IPR

DIGITISE will create a secure framework for trusted data collection, management, and sharing between citizens and businesses. It includes a cross-sector semantic layer and advanced data sovereignty mechanisms to ensure GDPR compliance. DIGITISE will also introduce a data marketplace with new data-sharing policies and legally binding contracts for seamless, cost-free peer-to-peer agreements, promoting active consumer participation in the data economy.

Business, Co-creation, and Exploitation Objectives

Extensive validate the DIGITISE concepts and results and set the pace for successful commercialisation and replication

The project will validate its concepts across diverse geographical and socio-economic contexts to ensure readiness for market commercialisation. This includes demonstration sites in multiple countries and engagement with both consumers and business stakeholders to refine and promote the solutions.

Overcome Market Barriers

DIGITISE introduces novel business models and contractual processes to facilitate consumer participation in energy markets. This includes flexibility management tools for aggregators and new business schemas that encourage active consumer involvement and data sharing.

Disseminate and Transfer the Knowledge to a wide range of stakeholders

The project emphasizes intense dissemination and knowledge transfer to promote its outcomes and establish DIGITISE as a reference implementation for consumer engagement in energy activities. This includes collaborations with other R&I projects, policy contributions, and organisation of workshops and events.
